The summer “burn ban” has gone into effect in several cities around Hampton Roads.
The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality does not allow open burning between May 1 and Sept. 30 in certain areas of the state. The summer burn ban includes the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg and Poquoson, as well as York and James City counties. Read More
