Downed power lines, fires plague Valley

High winds downed power lines and sparked fires across the Valley on Sunday as crews battled into the night to repair the damage.
As of 8 p.m., about 800 residents remained without power in the Staunton-Harrisonburg-Waynesboro region, down from more than 2,000 earlier today, said Richard Zuercher, a Dominion Virginia Power spokesman.
